Fat-soluble waxes are the most modern product in tear-off hair removal and are characterized by their low application temperature.
They are made from blends of resins of different extractions and highly refined oils that, through specific processes, originate depilatory waxes of different qualities. Embodied in them are the three main qualities that a depilatory wax must possess:
- the fluidity that ensures excellent spreadability
- the gentle tear on the skin but tenacious on the hair
- the ability not to accumulate heat, avoiding annoying redness.
The wax, which adheres to the hairs as soon as it hardens, is covered with strips of paper or fabric. When the wax has hardened sufficiently, the strip is quickly lifted, thus removing the hairs from the root. Waxing has the effect of delaying hair regrowth for a long time, making it increasingly difficult over the years. The time it takes for hairs to reappear on the skin surface depends on ethnicity, the stage of the life cycle at which the hair was removed, the depth of the follicle, typically 4-7 mm, and the rate of regrowth, typically 0.3-0.4 mm.
